On the Sunday the park will come alive with the sound of La Banda Europa, a unique orchestra that comprises the talents of leading global musicians who will perform a new composition from Scotland Creative. Award winner Jim Sutherland, accompanied by a large scale choir from North East England. The performance is entitled Before the Wolf, a project with a definite sense of theatricality, provided here by Hilary Westlake, artistic director of much of the Queens Jubilee celebrations. The main event is preceded on Saturday by several smaller shows in Newcastle city centre.
