Newcastle Restaurants
Newcastle has a wide choice of restaurants varying from top
quality International restaurants to all the famous fast food
brands. Every type of cuisine is on offer ranging from Chinese,
Indian, Italian, Thai, Mexican, Greek, Spanish, French and
of course British. If you are out with the family for a day
you will not have far to look to keep the children happy as
there are plenty of burger bars and fish and chip bars of
a very high quality.
Newcastle has it's very own Chinatown and they are mainly
based in Stowell Street with about 15 restaurants all offering
a high standard of food and service. Although the restaurants
can vary in decor and price there will be something to suit
every taste. The Chinese restaurants of course are not all
situated in this area and there are many others dotted throughout
the city which are well worth visiting most notable being
Waterside Palace situated in Forth Banks.
The same can be said for the many Italian restaurants throughout
the city. Although many of them are in the Quayside area there
are also many others in the city centre. If you are on a budget
why not try the pizzeria Don Vito's or for a more intimate evening
out the Ristorante Roma is highly recommended.
Indian restaurants worth noting are Sachins, Asha Raval,
and Vujon, and they are all within walking distance of the
city centre .Again they all cater for the varied types of
cooking for that region.
Newcastle is a very cool, cosmopolitan city and this is evidenced
by the number of bistros, cafes and brasseries where you can
sit and enjoy one of the many types of coffee on order or enjoy
a very nice meal or snack in relaxed surroundings. The city
is also famous for it's pubs and many of them offer "pub
grub" to a very high standard and at a very reasonable
price. Having lunch or dinner in these establishments can be
very satisfying, especially if you have ordered a pint of the
famous Newcastle Brown Ale with your food. This drink is very
famous throughout the North East and has been brewed in the
city for many years.
